Fitness and success go hand in hand. Meeting marathons, long working hours, creative thinking and perseverance… to stay successful you need to stay focused all day. But how?

If you want to know the secrets, ask the pros.

Florian Gschwandtner, one of Runtastic’s founders, says daily workouts are the key! They keep his mind focused so he can tackle any unexpected challenges. Find out what his favorite workout is and why.

Working out can help prevent burn out and without daily exercise he just couldn’t stay on top of the game, says Florian. Even though he has a lot of variety in his workouts, he knows exactly what exercises work best for him…

Here is the exercise breakdown:

  • Plank Walk + Push-ups
  • Clap Push-ups
  • Hanging Leg Raises
  • Handstand Push-ups
  • Pull-ups

The formula is simple: a good Push-up workout makes him feel pumped for the day. And a smart training plan includes pushing and pulling. So Florian likes to combine both.

Curious to know more?

Here’s a sneak peek into the exercise habits of Runtastic’s former CEO:

What is the shortest workout you ever did?

For Florian, every minute matters. That’s why it’s not uncommon that he would do a 2-minute Push-up workout in the morning just to feel more energized. “Sometimes I do 100 Push-ups when I wake up, just to start the day feeling strong.”

Is there an exercise that you hate?

“Stretching is not my favorite. I prefer the feeling of a challenging workout and I like to work on my flexibility by moving,” says Florian. “Oh and… Burpees. There’s a serious love/hate relationship going on there.” 🙂

If you could choose only one exercise for a whole workout…

You guessed it… it would be push-ups! There are so many Push-up variations, it’s never boring. The Push-ups work more than just your chest and triceps. Trying out challenging variations trains your abs & lower back strength and stability. “But I prefer to cover all muscle groups in my weekly training; variety and smart planning is my priority.”

Strength training is not his only choice. Florian loves running, and signing up for races is a great way to stay motivated and share success with your team!

So, what’s his secret?

“Training is a tool to make you excel in other things. Use it in your own way. If you hate an exercise, find a replacement. If you have only 2 minutes, do a quick pump. Have a high quality, basic training plan, but stay open and think outside the box.”

There are so many reasons why a healthy lifestyle makes you more successful. Stop making excuses and find what works for you. Use your training as a tool for success.
