Foam Roller Workout: 4 Exercises for Your Abs

foam roller workout

You might remember a while back, actually a couple years back, towards the beginning of the Runtastic Fitness channel, when I made a video for you guys showing you how to use the foam roller for recovery. I showed you how to use the foam roller to release your tight muscles and get in a good recovery workout. A lot of the feedback that I got was “Ouch! That really hurts!” Yes, I know it does hurt a little when using the foam roller for recovery.

Today, I am going to teach you a foam roller workout for your abs. So that way if you’ve bought one for recovery, you have a bit more variety and additional exercises you can do with a single piece of equipment. Which is really great. If you’re going to invest in something, it’s cool to have different options, right?

At the moment, I am using this black and orange foam roller. It’s a bit smaller than the black roller I used previously. But this one is cool because you can fit in your gym bag or even in your suitcase if you are traveling.

So, let’s get to it! I have 4 moves for your abs in this foam roller workout. It’s a really light piece of equipment and it looks harmless, but it’s going to really work your abs.

      1. Atomic crunch
      2. Russian twist
      3. Scissor kick and switch
      4. Pass-backs

Well, my abs are already feeling it and I didn’t even do that many! But there you go. 4 moves that you can do for your abs using a foam roller. Now you know how to use it for recovery and for your training. Let me know in the comments below if you try these exercises. Happy sweating, and hope you enjoy this foam roller workout.
