But why is the use of flavonoids so important for runners and fitness enthusiasts? They prevent blood clots and strengthen blood vessels. They promote circulation and thus speed up recovery after an extensive workout. Also, blueberries, chocolate and company boost the immune system – definitely a plus during the cold time of the year!
