Partner Exercises: 3 Valentine’s Day Workouts (and Dessert!)

It’s Valentine’s Day, and love is in the air. Before you and your Valentine head out for a romantic dinner or night at the movie theater, try out these creative and fun partner exercises to get in a great workout together.

Now don’t be discouraged if you don’t have a special Valentine this year. You can grab a friend to do this workout with you or fit in a workout at work with a colleague, too. In fact, these partner exercises are really fun to do with friends any time of year – not just on Valentine’s Day!

Partner Abs Workout

Let’s start with the abs! Everyone wants strong and defined abs, right? These partner ab exercises are a real burner.

  • Partner hand slap (60 sec)
  • Plank medicine ball pass (60 sec)
  • Sit-up ball throws (30 sec each partner)
  • Power leg raises (30 sec each partner)
  • Side plank fist bump (30 sec each side)

Rest at the end for 1-2 minutes and repeat 2-5 rounds! Rest at the end for 1-2 minutes and repeat 2-5 rounds! But let’s be honest: without a clean and healthy diet, your abs won’t come out of hiding.

Partner Cardio Workout

Get your heart rate up and break a sweat with these awesome partner cardio exercises. Whether you haven’t the time to head out for a run, or you just want to mix things up a bit and have some fun — this workout is perfect!

  • Jump squat high 5 (60 sec)
  • Plank out-out-in-in (30 sec each partner)
  • Swimmers + burpees (30 sec each partner)
  • Partner-resisted sprints (30 sec each partner)

Rest at the end for 1-3 minutes. Repeat 3-5 rounds!

Total Body Partner Workout

These moves are super fun and some will probably even make you feel like a kid again. Some of these exercises are really challenging, so choose which ones suit your and your Valentine’s fitness level best. Pick out 3-6 of these exercises and try to do them for 60 seconds each. If it’s a two-sided exercise, be sure to switch after 30 seconds. Rest at the end for 1-2 minutes and repeat 2-5 rounds!

  • Back-to-back wall sit
  • Plank burpee jumps
  • Plank crawl under
