Podcast: “Your Body Was Made to Move” — Exclusive Interview with Haile Gebrselassie

“When I was 7 years old — it was in 1980 — the Ethiopian runner Miruts Yifter won two gold medals for 5,000 and 10,000 meters at the 1980 Summer Olympics. The whole of Ethiopia was talking about him and I thought: I want that too!” says Haile Gebrselassie when asked to recall the early stages of his career.

In our exclusive adidas Runtastic podcast interview, the “Lion of Ethiopia” offers insight into his extraordinary career. He also tells us about his most memorable running moments and how running can become a habit for anyone.

Haile Gebrselassie…

…was born on April 18, 1973, in Assela, Ethiopia and set 26 world records as a long-distance runner. The two-time Olympic champion and four-time world champion is particularly famous for his unforgettable duel with Kenya’s Paul Tergat.
