Running with Friends

Running for me is a really amazing experience where I shed a lot of negativity and take in a lot of positivity. It is a form of exercise that I can do no matter where I am, a time to relieve some stress, and I thoroughly enjoy it. I am sure if you were to ask any runners, they probably would not tell you that they run because they have to—we run because we want to.
A great way to enjoy some outdoor fitness and socialize is to go running with friends. With all the busyness of life, going on a run with a buddy or a group of friends can be a great way to ensure you are getting in some exercise and still maintaining relationships with those close to you. Even if you are not really good friends with a fellow runner, but you both can work out some time to schedule a run together, it can be a great way to get to know the other person, enjoy a mutual interest and build a lifelong friendship and running partnership. Running with a buddy or friends also requires a plan, commitment and accountability.
Pick a meeting spot that is near both you and your running partner or group that you both can run to and meet up. This is a great way to get in some alone running time, get focused, and ready for a great time with your friends. You can also finish your run at this meeting point and have your alone, refresh and recharge time on the way home. I always feel so much happier when I run with friends, and the time goes by faster because I can chat a little bit and catch up.
With that being said, running is not always for everyone but exercise definitely is for everyone. I challenge you to find something that you like to do in regards to fitness, stick with it and include a buddy or a group of friends.
