We’ve packed the adidas Running app full of great features, and we’re always adding to the list!

If you’re already using the adidas Running app, then you’re clearly pretty switched on about training and your performance. But if you’re just opening the app and tracking yourself with GPS, then you’re just scratching the surface of what the app can do for you. And if you’ve never tried adidas Running — these features will make you love it! They make your runs more fun and efficient.

We’ve put together a list of 4 top features in the adidas Running app — so explore what we’ve packed into the app to get more out of your training.

1. Challenges

Are you the kind of person who needs a reason to get moving? Check out our #1 feature — Challenges — in the adidas Running app for that extra push to keep moving. We’ve got new challenges starting regularly, and there’s something for everyone. Whether it’s for walking or running, you are sure to find something that gets you out there.

This feature will bring out the best in you! Challenges are competitions with a specific mission over a certain timeframe, which are defined in the description. Tap the Progress tab in the adidas Running app to see which Challenges are currently live and join one! Enthusiasm is contagious — don’t forget to invite friends to participate with you.

Once you’ve joined, activities that comply with the challenge rules will be automatically linked and count towards the Challenge. Track your performance and compare it to other users on the leaderboard!

2. Shoe tracking

Now that you’ve joined a challenge, you are going to be spending more time in your running shoes. Therefore, it’s a good idea to track how far you’ve run in them so you know when it’s time to retire them. After you’ve finished your run, you will be able to select which shoes you ran in to keep track of how many kilometers or miles they’ve covered overall. We’ll then let you know when it’s time to start thinking about getting a new pair. It’s not only distance we track, you will also be able to see how many sessions, your average pace, as well as elevation gained and lost in your shoes. Do you feel faster in one pair of shoes? This feature will let you know for sure!

3. Live Cheering

Go! Go! Go! Be sure to enable cheering to get fired up during a run. Click on the gear icon on the Activity tab to open Activity Setup. Scroll down and turn on Live Tracking. This will allow your friends to cheer you on in the app and you will hear the cheer they send through your headphones! If you decide to share the start of your LIVE Tracking activity on Facebook, then you’ll also hear a cheer when someone likes the post.

Give your friends a chance to send you fun cheers! It will keep you motivated to keep pushing yourself during your run.

4. Interval Training

Interval training — going all out for a short period of time, resting and repeating — is a common and highly beneficial type of training. It helps you improve your running performance and get faster, but it’s also great for weight loss.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to do intervals: we’ve included some preset sessions for you in our Interval Training feature. You can also create your own session by tapping the gear icon in the Activity tab, then tap Select Your Workout, Interval Training, and then the plus sign. Customize your warm-up & cool-down time, choose how many intervals you want, their intensity, and how long they last. Once you’ve done this, the Voice Coach will guide you through the intervals and tell you when to rest or speed up.
