Runtastics already got their sweat on
Workouts you can do anytime, anywhere? The employees at Runtastic had to check this out for themselves. In total, 293 Runtastics opted to test the app first-hand and up close. The team put in 3,000+ hours of training and lost an average of 5.2% body fat in order to tweak and help develop the perfect bodyweight training app for users.

Working out with your coworkers is unbelievably motivating. We were all pouring sweat together and giving it everything we had. Even after the 12 weeks were over, I kept going and I’ve already set my eyes on the next goal,” said Andrzej Kozlowski, 3D artist at Runtastic.

Braving the wind and the weather, the Runtastics completed at least three of the Results workouts per week, depending on their fitness level and training habits. The results of the training sessions are still visible today. Former couch potatoes are now enthusiastic fitness fans. Many team members still get together to do standalone workouts. And some are getting ready to start the training plan all over again from the beginning together with users on November 12.

Here you can find the app for iOS and Android.

“I’ve tried lots of different programs and apps that I never finished because I felt like their training plans weren’t adapted to me and my fitness level. Runtastic Results, on the other hand, offers something for everyone. Top fit or just a beginner, after the fitness test in the app everyone receives their own personalized training plan, which is updated weekly. That was perfect for me, and I achieved great results with it. I’ve never been stronger, and this is just the beginning…,” said Runtastic CEO, Florian Gschwandtner, full of enthusiasm.

The Runtastic team can look back fondly on more than

  • 1 million jumping jacks,
  • 801,787 push-ups and
  • 627,889 burpees.

And on an unforgettable, shared experience that not only bound them closer together, but made them fitter and healthier.

Hi, like the app so far, but there must be a bug or something..
Doing that fitness test is a great feature, but very annoying when you have done it and you’re ready to start your plan the morning after and the app tells you to do the fitness test (again..) At least I remembered my results but I hope you can look into it.

Hi Michael, if some of the exercises are too difficult at the beginning, try some of these alternative exercises. Here’s the link:

The sounds you describe when doing leg raises can be due to many reasons. Sometimes they are caused by the snapping of the tendons of the musculus tensor fasciae latate as they pass across the femoral head. This can feel like something popping in your lower back. Try bowing your legs out (instead of keeping your legs together, turn your knees out). The main thing is that the exercise does not cause you pain. If it does, replace it with another exercise that doesn’t cause you problems. If you continue to experience pain, you should see a physiotherapist or a doctor.

Hi Lauren, wrist pain is often caused by poor joint mobility. In this blog post (http://bit.ly/23YmFh4), you can find helpful tips on mobilizing your joints and making the exercises easier on them. If you are experiencing pain due to your operation, the best thing would be to consult your doctor or physiotherapist.
We hope we were able to help you, and we wish you continued success with your training.

Great app, really, I’m enjoying RResults for several months already. But I also have some troubles with it.
    1. It is normal that I cannot finish a workout without sharing the results either in Facebook or Twitter? My Android-app does not allow me to leave the screen of sharing without sharing at least with one of the accounts. Well, if I switch off the network, it works then.
    2. It would be nice to be able to edit the personal best time for particular exercise. Couple of times I was mistakenly too fast to pass to the next exercise in the middle of workout. So, I have, for example, 2 sec PB for 50 pushups. Would be hard to beat.
    3. The workout is not counted as finished if the stretching is not performed, at least in my Android version. This is a shame because sometimes I have to make only short specified stretching instead of 8 min general stretching.
    4. And now I am blocked because of the last problem. I did not performed stretching after last training in the week. Then the app thought that the week is over, asked for week evaluation and proposed new program. And now I cannot start it, because the before starting first day, the program requires me to finish the last workout, which it thinks not yet finished because of incomplete stretching. As I said, I am blocked, and cannot progress with my program (I’m on week 14/15 now). Any ideas how to overcome this problem?

Dear Bea, the workouts will always be hard – no matter if you do 3 or 4 workouts a week 😉

  • Runtastic Team

Hi Bea, that’s a really great question. The more days per week you choose to train, the more energy output and more muscles you’ll be working. The workouts you see in 3 days per week will not be split up into 4 or 5 days per week should you choose more days. When you choose more training days you get more workouts. When you choose 3 days, you’ll get 3 total-body workouts. The 4th and 5th day are extra core/abs and cardio workouts.

  • John Schmalbach

I was injured and so needed to lay off for 3 months when I was already 5 weeks in. Clearly my fitness is now far from what it was. I deleted my history but the android app still has me on day 3 of week 5. I uninstalled the app and deleted all app data and yet that 3 of 5 remains. Anyone know a way to restart the 12 week program on the Android App from the fitness test?
