1. Rock’n’Roll Marathon Series: March to December 2017, worldwide

Running in sunlight at midnight? The Midnight Sun Marathon in Tromsø makes this unique experience possible. The northernmost race in the world offers a variety of distances, with something for every fitness level.
4. Großglockner Mountain Run: July 16, 2017, Heiligenblut/Austria
The 13 km route of the Großglockner Mountain Run leads you through Austrian cultural landscapes and alpine glacier regions. Along the way, you will conquer nearly 1500 meters of elevation gain. The breathtaking natural surroundings leave little room for boredom and you are guaranteed to break a sweat.
5. Conti 24h Thunder Run: July 22-23, 2017, Norwich/UK
The 24h Thunder Run will be held for the 9th time already in Cotton Park in Norwich. Basically, the name says it all: You run 24 hours against the clock, either alone, with a partner or in a team. This run is a physical and mental challenge, but mainly it is an awesome experience that you shouldn’t miss out on.
6. Australian Outback Marathon: July 29, 2017, Ayers Rock Resort/Australia
This is probably the only marathon in the world where kangaroos cross your path! 😉 The “Red Earth” route leads running enthusiasts over sand and stone through Australia’s breathtaking Outback – past Ayers Rock and the Olgas. An adventure that no participant is likely to forget.

Definitely the merriest race in the world: Join Mickey Mouse and his dog Pluto for a 21 km race through Disneyland and the streets of Anaheim. A magical experience!
8. Antarctic Ice Marathon: November 24, 2017, Union Glacier/Antarctica
Good running gear and lots of layers are a must at the Ice Marathon in the Antarctic, the southernmost race in the world. The average temperature there in November is -15°C. During the marathon, you battle against the elements and may meet the occasional penguin or two. Something only for pros, but it is definitely a thrilling experience. Unfortunately, you have to dig deep into your pockets if you want to take part in this frosty, but unique experience: The entry fee is more than € 15,000.
9. Bagan Temple Marathon: November 25, 2017, Bagan/Myanmar
Run amidst the breathtaking scenery of numerous temples through Bagan, the historic capital of the Pagan Kingdom in Myanmar. You can choose between a marathon, a half marathon and a 10 km race. The hardest thing about the race is to resist the temptation to stop every couple of meters and admire the temples and the villages.
