Follow Manja’s Runtastic Results journey week by week here on the Runtastic blog. Manja is a mom, wife, works a full-time job and is ready to change her life. We know that her story is a powerful one and we look forward to sharing her journey one workout at a time. Now she’s on to week 2. In case you missed week 1, you can get a full recap here.
Dear Week 2,
Ummm…I’m gaining weight! NOT what I ordered. I know that weight can be weird and fluctuate especially at the beginning. I mean, I haven’t trained like this since….NEVER! So I am sure my body is a little confused and will start dropping weight soon. Honestly, it’s just so not motivating though.
Workout 1: I’m afraid to say this, so don’t tell anybody! I really love planks and wall-sits. Is that weird? For some reason they are one of my favorite exercises so far. Yes, I am shaking while doing them but somehow I like them. Before today’s workout I had a bad stomachache, but after the warm up it went away. I was very happy about that. I guess I can’t use a stomachache as an excuse anymore.
Workout 2: LOVED IT! Oh gosh, I am turning into one of those people that I used to hate!! I would have never thought those words would come out of my mouth when talking about a workout or ANYTHING like it. This is weird, but I like it. I really had to fight hard for those last 10 sit-ups and I was completely shaking after 20 seconds of the plank. But, I fought through it and made it to 30 seconds – Roarrrrrrrrrr……!!!
Workout 3: I hated the workout today….naaaaa….just kidding. I loved it! In fact, I even went on a 5K run afterwards and I saw a rainbow, that was so refreshing. I think it was especially for me 🙂 These workouts, while intense, really motivate me to keep going and keep moving. Tomorrow I am going to the cinema with my kids. I am really looking forward to spending time with them and maybe treating myself with some popcorn or something. I don’t want to be too extreme and give up everything I enjoy.
Workout 4: I finished the workout very quickly today. I am actually surprised. I also went on an additional 5K run after I finished my workout. Who am I? I can’t believe I am actually enjoying this stuff and doing MORE. But honestly, I am really proud of myself. I feel really good, and really energized and I just want to get healthy so badly!
Overall, the workouts were much harder than last week and I liked the combination of old and new exercises. I like doing the familiar ones and then mixing in some new, challenging ones as well. What I like the most about the workouts so far is that they are really hard and challenging, but in the end I feel so good and so glad that I completed them. It’s really motivating and makes me want to keep moving and not spend the rest of the day lying around.
Sincerely,
Manja
