Senior Data Engineer

Data-driven decision making and machine learning are key components in Runtastic’s endeavor to deliver a superior digital running and training experience to our users.

As our new Senior Data Engineer, you will join our equally consumer- and chocolate-obsessed data team in providing an engineering-friendly stack of services that empower us to Wow! our users.

You’ll contribute by:

  • Developing data models and schemas in collaboration with product teams and other stakeholders 
  • Managing and curating data pipelines from various sources to ensure data quality and availability 
  • Providing an environment to deploy and run machine learning and statistical models in a production environment 
  • Mentoring and educating our Data Engineers and Data Scientists
  • Continuously improving our platform, services, and toolset to fit the evolving requirements of our agile business

What makes you the right match:

  • Advanced programming skills in Python. Previous experience with other languages (i.e. Java or Scala) is a plus.
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Professional experience with cloud-based services (specifically AWSAzure)
  • Very good knowledge of technologies like Kafka,SparkDatabricks, or Tensorflow
  • Ability to convert complex business systems and requirements into technical concepts and solutions
  • Passion for new technologies and for creating value from data in a fast-changing environment
  • Preferably a degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field (university or higher technical institute) 
  • Very good English skills
