VP of Platform Engineering

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, our teams are currently working from home, and we are onboarding new hires remotely.

As our VP of Platform Engineering, you’ll be - together with your teams - ensuring continuous platform and architecture enhancements at Runtastic while making product development faster and easier for the rest of the team. In close collaboration with our VP of Product Engineering and CTO, you’ll have the chance to shape the future of Runtastic from an engineering perspective.

You’ll contribute by:

  • Leading, coaching and inspiring a team of four Engineering Managers responsible for our architecture, platform and tooling
  • Setting the engineering strategy together with our CTO and VP of Product Engineering
  • Owning the platform roadmap
  • Ensuring consistent adoption of software development best practices across all engineering teams
  • Fostering a culture of knowledge sharing on each platform
  • Overseeing hiring within your VP area and shaping our company culture

What makes you the right match:

  • 10+ years experience in Software Engineering
  • Empathetic, people-centered mindset and a passion for leadership
  • 5+ years of leadership experience (line manager responsibility) and ideally, first experience in leading a team of managers
  • Familiarity with managing teams that only had other engineering teams as customers
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle as well as agile principles
  • Proactive attitude with a passion for building communities and steering knowledge exchange
  • Coaching mentality with the willingness to lead and drive company-wide initiatives
  • Preferably, track record of designing Engineering organizational structures
  • Excellent communication and English skills

And here’s the fine print: Our salary range for this position starts at EUR 80,000 gross per year. Your actual offer depends on your skill set and experience.
