Head of Engineering (Membership Experience)

Join the Runtastic team and support hundreds of millions of users in the adidas Running and adidas Training apps as they progress along their fitness journey.

As Head of Engineering (Membership Experience) you will work closely with our Tech Leadership team, Heads of Product and the Engineering Managers of your area to identify and prioritize improvements across engineering management practices and the software delivery processes. Together with your team, you’re responsible for creating the best-in-class fitness experience for adidas members from an engineering perspective.

You’ll contribute by:

  • Leading, coaching and inspiring up to 4 Engineering Managers and their teams
  • Ensure overall technical competence by guiding and growing the whole team
  • Guiding cross-functional product development teams through the development lifecycle and fostering collaboration between Engineers and other team members
  • Creating a high performance as well as high velocity engineering organization
  • Understanding and improving the software delivery lifecycle of your teams by owning key delivery and quality metrics
  • Managing salaries and the learning & development budget of your team members
  • Attracting and hiring new talents for your teams

What makes you the right match:

  • 6+ years of experience with software development; ideally in an agile environment
  • 3+ years of experience as a line manager; ideally also experience leading managers
  • Empathetic, people-centred mindset and a passion for leadership
  • Proactive attitude to improve processes as well as drive collaboration and team maturity
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and creating an understanding of technical needs and investments
  • Excellent English skills
