Vienna – Dec 1st, 2016 – Today Runtastic – one of Austria’s most successful tech companies and a leader in the global fitness industry – announced the opening of its newly renovated office in Vienna. The expanded facility is double the size of the start-up’s former office and opens in January 2017. Located in the heart of Vienna’s city center, the new office is the latest effort Runtastic is making to accommodate a growing team of innovators from around the world.
“Our Vienna office will provide more space for our growing team, and ultimately more space for creativity and innovation,” said Florian Gschwandtner, CEO and co-founder of Runtastic. "In October, we celebrated Runtastic's 7th anniversary and it makes us incredibly proud to see that we've been able to maintain our start-up culture throughout the entire journey. By joining the adidas family, we also gained numerous offline advantages and established an even greater sense of stability. We really do enjoy the best of both worlds - a techy start-up spirit combined with the benefits of an established international company."
Runtastic, ranked #4 on Great Place to Work Austria’s list of “Best Places to Work in Austria 2016,” has long been one of the country’s most diverse companies. With 190 team members representing 32 nations, there are many perspectives contributing to the company’s success. Runtastic has three offices in Austria: its recently renovated headquarters in Linz, and offices in Vienna and Salzburg—the new Vienna facility will be Runtastic’s second largest office.
The new working environment in Vienna offers lots of space to build new agile teams also in the Austrian capital. As Linz is only a stone’s throw away, employees in Vienna are still fully integrated in the team and benefit from all the perks, event offers and leisure activities that make Runtastic one of the best places to work.
In true start-up fashion, the ever-growing Runtastic team has led to the company’s constant progress in its product development. Acquired by adidas in 2015, Runtastic has an innovative portfolio that supports its users in living healthier, fitter lives. Currently available in 15 languages, Runtastic products rank high in digital health and fitness spaces all over the world.
“Runtastic is successful because of our team’s dedication to our products and willingness to take risks to improve user experience,” said Gschwandtner. “We are committed to delivering enjoyable products to our users. We know this is only possible when we use the products ourselves. Our staff—whether they are developers, designers or translators—all provide vital insights that help Runtastic succeed. We’ve seen so much talent in Vienna, and we’re excited to grow our team there.”
Founded in 2009, Runtastic has rapidly grown into an innovative portfolio of apps, products and services that track and manage health and fitness data to motivate individuals to get in shape, stay healthy and improve overall fitness. In August 2015, the company was acquired by the adidas Group.
