Health & Fitness Leader Announces Runtastic Fitness Bot in Anticipation of Upcoming F8 Conference
As Facebook Fights for Chatbot Relevance, Runtastic Vows to Deliver Purpose & Quality| Published on: 11.04.2017
Vienna, Austria – April 11, 2017 – Today Runtastic – a leader in the digital health and fitness space that offers a comprehensive portfolio of apps, products and services for tracking and managing health and fitness data – announced the release of the Runtastic Fitness Bot. The bot is intended to provide Runtastic users and fans with an array of health and fitness information and motivation via Facebook Messenger and connects the Runtastic Results workouts, loved by millions, with their Facebook experience.
“The Runtastic Fitness Bot is an opportunity to connect with people in a new way, in a new space,” said Florian Gschwandtner, CEO and Co-Founder of Runtastic. “Further, it’s always exciting for our team to dabble with new technologies and collaborate with a big player like Facebook when it comes to new methods to motivate, inspire and coach our users. We do recognize that bots have often lacked relevance and quality over the past years and we want to be part of a movement that changes that standard in 2017.”
Chatting with the Runtastic Fitness Bot, which was created in collaboration with Austrian chatbot start-up Swell – it’s the pioneer product under their newest brand Swell Heroes, focusing on bots for influencers – provides users with the chance to do a variety of customized bodyweight workouts or read up on fitness-related topics. Talk to Runtastic’s Fitness Coach who provides video instructions for all Results exercises as well as useful health & fitness information and inspiration. Specific categories – which one can stumble into during the chat or navigate to via the available menu – include: Running & Fitness, Nutrition & Recipes, Runtastic Results, Weight Loss, Sleep and Quote of the Day.
“We see companies and personalities in a variety of industries developing chatbots as a new, convenient way to interact with and build relationships with the consumer,” said Stephanie Peterson, CMO of Runtastic. “Whether in the field of travel booking, banking, ordering gifts and flowers or consuming your daily news - bots can help make certain daily activities and interactions a bit more seamless and efficient.”
