Description

This is a hiking route. I made this map from a satellite image without elevation lines so, it is only an approximation; it is imperfect. Korea towns are surrounded by small steep mountains. This hiking trail follows ridge lines and contour lines up a valley. So it is less steep than many. The route continues past the "Healing Spring" (a translation from Korean YAK SU TEO) and up to a mountain called (YONG JI BONG). The Jangyu Temple is near the mountain top. This trail, as marked, is one-way to the spring. It takes about 45 min to 1 hour (one-way) for normal hikers. If you push hard and run/jog/walk, you can make it in 30 min or less. It is more uphill than downhill. I guesstimate the elevation of the spring to be about 150 meters, since the hill above it is about 300 meters tall and the spring is about half-way up. If I remember, I will confirm the elevation with my runtastic altimeter. Once you find the trail, it is well-traveled and easy to follow. There are some forks, but the main trail is pretty obvious. Signs, if any, are in Korean. There are two exercise stations; one along the way and one at the spring.
