The trip begins in the parking lot of The Mount Hermon Conference Center Canopy Tours parking lot. NOTE: BEGINNING AND END POINTS ON THE TRACK ARE INCORRECT - start at the waypoint marked "Mount Hermon Conference Center Canopy Tours parking lot". Take Lakeside Drive to Pine Avenue and turn right, ascending Pine Avenue to Ponderosa Lodge. Past Ponderosa Lodge, the private road crosses Graham Hill Road at the base of Bear Mountain. Cross into Roaring Camp Railroad Park, onto the service road and ascend to Bear Mountain. Ride along the railroad tracks, then descend down through the private park - it is muddy and wet during the winter season, and in places can be been seriously cut up by both mountain bike tires and/or large tractor wheels. Descend into the park, cross over the bridge and turn left into Roaring Camp Railroad park towards the boundary. On both sides of the boundaries are restrooms always open on weekends, mostly open during weekdays. Cross the boundary into Henry Cowell State Park bearing left and looping into Pipeline Road and ascend Pipeline Road to Lookout Point. There are some very steep parts to the road, but the climb is killer exercise. There are plenty of doable hills, and the final stretch to the lookout is worth it. The views are spectacular and on a clear day you can see all the way to Big Sur. And, of course, the piece de resistance...the descent. Get your rocks off, speed racer! Cross back over the park boundary, ascend back up to the bridge, then bear right alongside the park boundary descending to the entrance via the service road. Cross back over Graham Hill Road, and ascend Roaring Camp Railroad Drive up to Conference Drive. Turn right onto Conference Drive, and ascend Conference Drive past the Post Office. Turn right immediately past the offices into the parking lot. http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1976632
