As with all my runs I like few stops. And this run stayed true to that. Only one stop the whole time. This route has two trail portions to it and several hills. The worst of the hills are on the first trail that starts at the end of Avenida de Los Lobos. There are however some good hills along the street route. The worst of the hills are on the first trail that starts at the end of Avenida de Los Lobos. There are however some good hills along the street route. I consider this run great for training purposes. Maybe not so good for a casual run. Then again, most casual runs are not 12 mi either. I parked in the Deerwood Apts. I was only there 2.5 hrs. Additional- One option is too delete the first trail run. This will reduce the run by 1.3 mi and get rid of the two worst hills. Instead of turning left onto the trail continue running north on Camino Crisalida and go down Bernardo Center until you reach Winecreek Rd. You can reduce the run farther. After reaching Camino Del Norte you can also delete all the residential running and continue east on Camino Del norte back to the Deerwood start. This makes it a 7.4 mile loop and eliminates almost all the hills.
