What Is Run Wild?

Run Wild is a purpose-driven, global, ten day digital running challenge in the adidas Running app.

In collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme, Internet of Elephants, our tracking partners Polar, Suunto and many more, adidas Runtastic set the ultimate goal to engage existing and new users to be active. At the same time, Run Wild 2020 educates and rallies runners around the topics of endangered species and threatened wildlife.

3 Species = 3 Challenges

Adjany the elephant, Tendrel Zangmo the Bengal tiger, or Pamoja the pangolin: with 3 challenges in the adidas Running app for beginners, intermediate, and pro runners, participants could choose which animal they would like to compete against. Whether running, treadmill, walking, virtual running, or trail running – all these counted toward the completion of the Run Wild Challenge.

Our Tracking Partners

Together we can make positive change. For Run Wild 2020, adidas Runtastic partnered up with Polar and Suunto to offer tracking with and discounts for their devices to log activities and connect users from all around the world.

The common goal: 1 million participants for 1 million threatened species to raise awareness for endangered species and advocate for greater biodiversity protection globally.

Unconventional collaborations can bring the urgency of environmental action to the attention of people and policymakers worldwide. For Run Wild 2020, adidas Runtastic partnered up with Space for Giants, the Bhutan Tiger Center and The Pangolin Project to represent the interests of all threatened species at the UN General Assembly Biodiversity Summit.
